Geoffrey Perkins RIP
An amazing producer with an incredible track record, but a wonderful writer and performer as well - his performances in Radio Active and KYTV pretty much sum up what comedy IS to me.

I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue, Hitchhiker’s Guide and Father Ted. What an amazing trio of programmes to have produced - I don’t think you could name three other shows that put together have given me as much pleasure as those.
What a sad loss to the field, and at a ridiculously young age as well. He’ll be sadly missed.

It all seems rather surreal and sad. It’s a real loss for British comedy.

I didn’t actually know who he was but reading that obit he was involved in a big way with lots of TV and radio I loved. Very sad.

Definitely too young (sheesh, the writer & main producer of Hitchhikers both gone before their time…)

Just a godawful thing to happen, and a massive loss for comedy. Seemed like he was going to go on making good stuff for decades yet.

I decided to watch KY Tellython tonight in memory of him. And how does it start?
“…and that’s followed by a special programme showing more of the zany knockabout antics of the hilarious Frankie Jolly… who died today in a car crash.”
Gah.
