Like a great many people who watch too much TV and try to avoid the real world whenever possible, I often find myself unable to to choose or recommend new books. Somehow the hype, publicity or good word of mouth never reaches me. Well, I now have a new bookmark:

Flagging up less-noticed books, the site is well worth a wander if you’re stuck for something to flick through. Full disclosure forces me to admit that I found the site thanks to my buddy Nigel’s hysterical/terrifying memoir I Think There’s Something Wrong With Me being listed. (Bias or not, I recommend it regardless, and wholeheartedly). Last year’s winner, meanwhile, was Boy A, which was turned into the best TV drama Channel 4 have made in years…and I hadn’t realised it was a book first. Amazon ho!
