BBC Online release 'Nightshade'
Continuing the BBC's excellent tendancy to publish out of print Doctor Who New Adventure books online and for free, we now have this.
Nightshade is one of the earlier New Adventures books and written by that fine fellow Mark Gatiss, who's gone and wroted 'The Unquiet Dead' and 'The Idiot's Lantern' for the new series.
So, why not fill in the long and miserable wait for Torchwood with a bit of a good ol' fashioned New Adventures goodness.
DO IT.

From that BBC link: "Mark Gatiss is one third of acclaimed comedy team The League Of Gentlemen."
Or, indeed, one quarter, seeing as there are FOUR members of The League.

Hooray! I'm glad they're still doing this. I got rid of (nearly) all my BBC Doctor Who novels recently, but I kept the Virgin ones, because they are aces.

You've just got to love this first paragraph -
"All around the cluttered cloisters, musty rooms and high, vaulted halls there was a deep and tangible hush. The only light in the virtually impenetrable gloom was of a peculiarly pellucid green, spilling out feebly from every heavy wooden door and misaligned stone. Everywhere, there was a terrible sense of stagnancy, imbuing the whole place with a fetid, neglected atmosphere, as though some great cathedral had been flooded by a brackish lagoon."
Only Mark could get away with 'peculiarly pellucid'!
