Attention bbc.co.uk!
When I ask to go to the BBC Three site, I expect to be taken to the BBC Three site. I do not expect to be redirected to the Torchwood site. If I wanted to go there, then I would have asked for it.
I mean, Jesus.

They just want to promote the series.

Doesn't matter. If you type in the URL for the BBC 3 site, you should reasonably expect to arrive at the BBC 3 site. As a consumer, this is like walking into a bookshop only to find that the insides have been replaced with a barber shop and would you like your hair cut? You'd soon get sick of this sort of promotion if every time you tuned in to watch the news it actually just showed you trailers for the X-Factor. Why should it be any different just because it's online?

Absolutely.
The thing is, there's a prominent link to the Torchwood site anyway on the BBC Three site. You can't miss the fucker. The BBC doesn't have to rely on hits for advertising or anything - as a licence fee payer, we should be immune to this sort of thing from the BBC.
