Oooh!
Apparantly, Caroline Aherne and Craig Cash are working together again. This is excellent news - The Royle Family is one of my favourite sit-coms of recent times, as is Cash's criminally under-rated Early Doors. They're a great writing partnership, and, like many others, probably better together than apart. This'll be an interesting one to follow, what with Aherne's well-documented and worrying recent problems. Fingers crossed she's all better now...

Aherne has written some rubish as well though, Mrs.Merton for example.
And I just don't uderstand the appeal of Early Doors. I don't find it all that funny.

I was amusing the first time I saw it, but after that it was the same thing over and over again. Seeing an 'old lady' take the piss out of some random celeb that I don't give a monkeys about really didn't interest me. That said me mum loved it...

Early Doors is great. I'm glad they repeated it on BBC1, it's better than anything the channel has. And I liked Mrs. Merton, both the chat show and the extremely dry series Mrs. Merton and Malcolm (with Craig Cash as Malcolm). I remember the series got a right pasting at the time! So much so that it seems to be one of those that the BBC refuse to admit exists. I just remember the line 'dead in front of a one bar fire' for some reason, also the same thing happened every week with an old guy coming round and Mrs. Merton giving him cakes and biscuits.
It's good to know they're writing together again. Maybe they'll do a Royle Family special as well as this new series.
